Jordan & Jordan is seeking a recent tech-savvy college graduate with an interest in Financial Services and a strong academic record to support The Financial Information Forum (www.fif.com) with a variety of operational tasks.

FIF members include industry-leading broker dealers, vendors, and exchanges seeking an industry perspective on implementation issues. FIF currently offers its members a range of services including committees/working groups, monthly reports and events. We are looking for someone to assist our team in managing the association's daily operations.

Requirements
  • Support FIF activities including preparing agendas, discussion documents, tracking spreadsheets, presentations with Excel data and graphics and other professional quality communications
  • Perform a wide variety of operational and administrative duties as required
  • Manage email inbox and telephone; provide information by answering questions and requests
  • Manage scheduling, administration and logistics for various FIF Committees/Working Groups including sending out meeting emails and reminders and preparing meeting minutes
  • Process new member on-boarding; approve FIF new member request online and add to Outlook Contacts
  • Process FIF member invoices
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment

Hire must be a strong C#.NET developer with a working knowledge of C++ and SQL. Experience in web technologies (ASP.NET, web services, AJAX) is a plus. Description

Jordan & Jordan is staffing project teams to assist brokerage firms in assessing their internal systems, policies and procedures aimed at compliance with the Internal Revenue Service's Cost Basis Reporting requirements. Project team members must be capable of working both independently and as a cohesive unit. The ideal candidate should have functional knowledge of how the recent and upcoming changes in cost basis reporting requirements impacts the following areas: year-end tax reporting, brokerage operations, corporate actions processing, wash sale calculations, tax lot selection, mutual fund and DRP cost basis, and transfer processing. A Big Plus - experience with proprietary cost basis systems or vendor products such as Maxit, GainsKeeper and/or Advent.

Requirements

A background in one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Tax Reporting with particular emphasis on 1099-B reporting
  • Audit and/or project management experience is a plus
  • Back office/securities processing for brokerage, custody, trust or transfer agency;
  • Accounts/positions maintenance
  • Portfolio Accounting, e.g. tax lot management, account reconciliation
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with executive management, and client staff at all levels to obtain cooperation, information and commitment to project deliverables

FIF members include industry-leading broker dealers, vendors, and exchanges seeking an industry perspective on implementation issues. FIF currently offers its members a range of services including committees/working groups, monthly reports and events. We are looking for someone to join our team to assist in growing the organization and offering our members additional marketing opportunities including a full-day conference with exhibitors and sponsors in January 2012.

  • Conduct the association's membership drive managing the sales process from lead identification to close
  • Manage FIF events including quarterly meetings/receptions as well as planning and managing a full-day conference
  • Support other FIF activities including preparing agendas, discussion documents, tracking spreadsheets, presentations with Excel data and graphics and other professional quality communications
  • Identify opportunities to help FIF grow and better serve our members
Requirements
  • Prior experience in Financial Services
  • Thorough understanding of the sales lifecycle
  • Proven expertise in the event management process
